Rio Dulce

MEDIUM/DARK

Rio Dulce is our premier coffee from Guatemala. The beans used in Rio Dulce hail from 87 communities in the Huehuetenango and Quiché departments grown by 161 small female owned farms. Grown in clay-loam soils which receive abundant organic matter deposits from the shade trees which also shield the coffee plants, Café Femenino farmers are able to cultivate their beans through organic growing practices. The unique climate in which Rio Dulce is grown in produces a high-quality coffee with a bold but flavorful dark chocolate taste.

Varietals present in Rio Dulce: Catimos, Catuai, Tipica, Villalobos, Bourbon

ABOUT THE COFFEE

Orangery Coffee is committed to sourcing beans and supplies from sustainable farmers and suppliers. All our beans are sustainably grown, and most of our green beans come from programs like Café Femenino, which partners with many small farmers. We take pride in being part of an ecosystem that rewards hardworking farmers with fair wages and opportunities for economic advancement.

Our coffee beans are grown with passion and dedication. Here are some interesting facts about the beans we source:

1. They are cultivated using ecologically sound methods to preserve the surrounding soil.

2. Farmers and their employees experience increased family incomes.

3. Female farmers in the Café Femenino program see improvements in self-esteem, financial and business decision-making, and legal rights to the land they farm.
